Getting the match right

Brickwork is one of those trades where the finish either sits right or it doesn't, and there's no hiding a mismatch once the scaffolding comes down. When we're working on an extension or an infill next to an existing house, matching the brick colour, texture and bond pattern is as important as the structural work itself. We'll take a sample from your existing brickwork where we can, and source the closest match available, rather than fitting whatever's easiest to get hold of.

The same care applies to repair and repointing work. Older properties in particular often used a lime based mortar rather than modern cement, and using the wrong mix doesn't just look wrong, it can trap moisture in the wall and cause damp problems over time. We'll always match the mortar to the age and construction of the property, not just the job in front of us.
